Bumblebee Review             Travis Knight’s Bumblebee hits the theater today! Is it another humdrum Michael Bay Transformer movie or does it raise the bar to new heights? Bumblebee opens up to the Autobots battling the Decepticons for Cybertron.   Fearing that things are lost, Optimus Prime (Kevin Cullen) tells the Autobots to retreat and regroup.   He then turns to his trusted soldier, B-127 (voiced by Dylan O’Brien) and tells him to go to Earth and set up the new base.   As B-127 flies away in his ship, he watches in horror as Optimus Prime is surrounded by Decepticon soldiers and the eventual fall of Cybertron.   Meanwhile, on earth, Agent Burns (John Cena) and his team are conducting a training exercise in the woods unaware that an unexpected guest is about to crash the party. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald           J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beast: The Crimes of Grindelwald , the second installment to this magical franchise, is a messy but fun movie to watch.            The Crimes of Grindelwald opens up six months after the dramatic capture of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) who has been in the custody of the MACUSA. The British Ministry of Magic has come to collect him and return him to London to answer for his crimes there. Well wouldn’t you know, Grindelwald has other plans. He manipulated his co-conspirators into staging an elaborate escape.             Now three months later, back in London, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) is getting ready for his meeting with the ministry to lift his international travel ban. While there, he runs into old love Lita Lestrange (Zöe Kravitz) and his “war hero” brother Theseus Scamander (Callum Turner). During the meeting, officials try to entice Newt to work for them

Bohemian Rhapsody             Twenty-eight years after the passing of prolific front man Freddie Mercury, Bryan Singer brings you the biopic of the legendary band Queen in Bohemian Rhapsody . Does it have all the glitz and glamour that it deserves or will it fall short? Bohemian Rhapsody opens up with Freddie Mercury’s (Rami Malek) epic walk to the stage for the 1985 Live Aid concert with ‘Somebody to Love’ playing in the background.   We then flashback to a young Farrokh Bulsara (Mercury’s given name) watching soon to be bandmates Brian May (Gwilym Lee) and Roger Taylor’s (Ben Hardy) band, Smile, play in a nightclub.   He walks up to them and tosses a song he scribbled on a napkin and tells them he also sings and would be a great addition to the band. They both laugh and Roger says to him “yea right, not that with those teeth mate!” At that point, Freddie belts out a soulful sound that made both Brian and Roger stop laughing and stare in awe.   They agreed to let him join t

Hunter Killer Review             Another submarine movie is about to hit the theaters. Will Donovan Marsh’s Hunter Killer blow you out of the water or will it sink to the bottom of the ocean? Hunter Killer opens up with the USS Tampa following a Russian nuclear class sub in the icy water of the Barents Sea.   All of a sudden, the sonar picks up an explosion coming from the Russian sub and then a torpedo from above hits the Tampa. This single action sets the tone of the entire movie.   There are several moving parts to this movie. Try to keep up. First, while Rear Admiral Fisk (Common) is trying to find out exactly what happened to the Tampa, he is approached by NSA Analyst, Jayne Norquist (Linda Cardellini). She informs him that just as the Tampa sunk, Zarkarin and Durov are meeting at the Fjord Base.    She also informs him that the NSA has been monitoring the Russian President Zarkarin (Alexander Diachenko) and his Minister of Defense, Admiral Dmitri Durov (Michael Gor)

Halloween Review           The original king of slashers is back! That’s right, John Carpenter’s Michael Myers is back in all his glory, but can Indi/Stoner comedy director David Gordon Green deliver the goods?           Halloween opens up at the Smith Grove Mental Institution where mass murderer Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle) has been held and studied for the past forty years. Since Dr. Loomis’ passing, Michael has been under the care of Dr. Sartain (Haluk Bilginger) who has been trying to continue where Loomis left off.  Where Dr. Loomis tried to destroy the evil, Dr. Sartain attempted to take his study a step further in trying to understand why Michael did what he did all those years ago.  However, time is no longer on his side and the state has decided to transfer Michael to a more secure facility. The Nun Review:             Finally, we get the darkest storyline in the Conjurverse.   As one of the most terrifying characters in the franchise, Corin Hardy’s The Nun is here to scare the @##$ out of audiences. Are you brave enough to watch?                 Set in 1950’s Romania at a cloistered Abbey, a young nun commits suicide.   Disturbed by her sinful actions, officials at the Vatican enlist Father Burke (Demián Bichir), a specialist in “miracle hunting”, to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death and determine if the abbey is still a holy place.   To help him with his duties, Vatican officials suggest he seek out novitiate Irene (Taissa Farmiga) as she has had some experience in the area and can assist him.   Their first task is to seek out Frenchie (Jonas Bloquet), the man who found the nun, get his side of how he discovered her and then have him take them to the abbey.               When they meet up with Frenchie, and he takes them to

 Mission Impossible: Fallout Review:             After two decades of playing Ethan Hunt, Tom Cruise is back in the sixth installment of Mission Impossible: Fallout .  A culmination of the previous films and the best one in the franchise.           Now that Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) has been apprehended and the Syndicate has fallen, the CIA has been on a mission to eradicate all former members of the organization.  This move has spawned a new, more dangerous organization called the “Apostles.”  Their ultimate goal is to set off a nuclear bomb and starve one-third of the world’s population bringing a new world order.            To achieve that goal, the Apostles stole plutonium, partnered up with the mysterious John Lark and a radical scientist to create their weapons of mass destruction.  Enter Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team Benji (Simon Peg) and Luther (Ving Rhames) to intercept and try to stop their nefarious plans but things didn’t go so well.  The team ended u

Equalizer 2     For the first time in his career, Denzel Washington has again teamed up with Antoine Fuqua in a return role as Robert McCall in The Equalizer 2 .   When we last saw Robert McCall (Denzel Washington), he was battling the Russian mob in efforts of helping Alina (Chloë Grace Moretz) out of a bad situation.  Now, almost four years later, Robert is still covertly helping people while posing as a Lyft driver.  In the opening scenes, Robert is on a Turkish train trying to stop a kidnapping.  When Robert informs the kidnapper as to why he is traveling to Istanbul, the kidnapper walks to the car door, locks it then gives the signal to his goons to take him out. Robert sees this and clicks his stopwatch. Sicario: Day of the Soldado           2018 is the year of sequels and prequels.  Is Stefano Sollima’s Sicario: Day of the Soldado just as good, if not better than the original dark crime drama or will it fall flat on its face?            Day of the Soldado starts out with so much going on at the same time that if you don’t pay attention you will be lost for the rest of the movie.  First, there is a lone person who blows himself up while trying to cross the Mexican US border.  Second, three suicide bombers kill people in a Kansas grocery store. Third, a young Miguel (Elijah Rodriguez) is being recruited to ferry immigrants across the border and finally, a covert mission into Somalia to question a known hijacker about recent suspected terrorist activity on the US/Mexican border.  All of these scenarios tie into each other and the one person who can make sense of all this chaos is Matt Graver (Josh Brolin).           Graver is called to Washington, DC to meet with the
